'Shop indie' gift ideas on the menu

David Knight • 25 May 2023

UK indies & creatives served up a #FoodieGiftsDay feast during the Twitter ‘shop indie’ showcase #UKGiftHour #UKGIftAM last weekend.

We’re picking out just a few of the tasty food and drink gift ideas they brought to the table.

Top row (from left):

  • London resin artist MU Resin Designs set the table – and the scene - with an eye-catching range of resin dishes, trays & coasters for snacks, party food and drinks.
  • Yorkshire wood artisan Davenport’s Handmade provided the icing on the cake – or rather, an exquisite celebration stand for the cake, with chameleon flake embellishments to the pedestal.
  • Eco-friendly West Sussex crochet designer and creator Little Conkers unpeeled an updated banana crochet pattern – one of a selection of fruit and veg choices.

Centre:

  • Lancashire designer Oyptdesign included family favourites chips ‘n’ gravy and Pot Noodle on her nostalgic food poster menu.
  • Derbyshire earring funster The Cute Quirky Earrings Co decided that marshmallow flumps were the order of the day.

Bottom row:

  • Kent artist Artwork by Emily Tull took our French Fancy with original miniature hand embroidery cake artwork.
  • You would expect Dundee specialists Potato House to 'Say it with Potatoes' and that’s exactly what they did with a display of their rare, heritage and organic produce.
  • West Yorkshire pyrography professionals Wooden You Love brought Fathers' Day into the mix with a bottle opener made from solid beech wood and featuring a handier longer handle.

Join us on #UKGiftHour #UKGIftAM every Saturday and Sunday morning from 9am-midday – we’re the giftfinder at your fingertips!
