Nottingham's world-class restaurant Sat Bains {header photo} celebrates its 25th anniversary. The eponymous chef started the restaurant in Lenton Lane on 5 October 1994 and is inviting some celebrity friends and big names in the industry – including James Martin, Michel Roux Jr, Tom Kerridge and former employees Gareth Ward, Tom Spenceley, Harry Corder and Master Sommelier Laurent Richet – to cook in the kitchen in a series of collaborative events to mark the achievement.
As food and drink writer Lynette Pinchess reports on the Nottinghamshire Live website: "Over the last two decades the restaurant has put Nottingham on both the UK and world culinary map for exquisite fine dining. Chefs create seven, ten and 15-course tasting menus and earlier this year a three-course à la carte menu was launched, with the same craftsmanship and flair."
Sat Bains told Lynette: "I think being diverse, pro-active, adaptive and giving customers what they want has definitely been part of our philosophy. We have to stay relevant and keep on with development. I think what is special about RSB is that we don't stand still. We are always evolving and pushing, never resting on our laurels and nurturing some of the best talent in the UK and beyond with our alumni."
