Find true gifts love with UK indies and creatives

David Knight • 25 January 2022

We felt it in our fingers, we felt it in our toes. . . love was definitely all around us during our #LoveGiftsDay on Twitter.

UK indies and creatives put all their passion into showcasing gift ideas that would grace Valentine’s Day celebrations.

Here’s a sprinkling of the special gift appeal that only shopping independent can deliver.

Top row (l to r)

  • Would you go to Tiffinity and Beyond for your Valentine? If you would then you can actually go to Cambridge tiffinista Tiffinity and Beyond (and who wouldn’t for their gourmet tiffin pizzas and boxes)
  • Portsmouth textile artist Little Bird of Paradise told us the charming story of how her eldest daughter was born on Valentine’s Day – giving rise to this expression of mum and baby doll love
  • If you’re gearing up for Valentine’s Day or a wedding, Celtic Oathing Stones – a project launched by Edinburgh crafter Elle Carling - offer free personalisation on their hand painted Celtic proposal stones

Centre row (l to r)

  • Halifax design house iseecollections can make you the King and Queen of Hearts with hand-painted, heavyweight whisky tumblers (also good for rum, brandy or any other celebratory drink, she assures us)
  • Surrey artist Tiffany Budd made the excellent suggestion of a piece of original art for your Valentine and offered up her own beautiful semi-abstract work of a couple embracing
  • Cambridgeshire designer Sally Thake Jewellery provided an a-wristing moment with her distinctive vegan wrap bracelets featuring a ceramic polka dot heart button

Bottom row (l to r)

  • London mosaic artist Rock Dove Art knows all about shining love – she fashions striking hand-cut and mirrored stained glass mini heart suncatchers in reds and golds
  • Eclectic Nottinghamshire crafter Spratts Designs has recreated all the symbols of love to add to letters or journals – her Love Stencil would even make an imaginative and heart-warming gift on its own
  • Norfolk marbling marvel Marbled Beauty appreciates how everyone likes to feel unique. And that emotion would be seconded by the Valentine who received her exquisite hand-marbled 100% silk scarf. Naturally, it’s the only one. . .
